Tokyo, Japan — The AI Film Festival Japan 2025 is pleased to announce that Randy Schmidt joins our international guest jury and will attend the ceremony in Tokyo. Raised in California and a graduate of UCLA Film School, Randy worked at 20th Century Fox before moving to Tokyo in 1996. He served as a cameraman‑editor‑producer across Asia—including 18 years with CBS News—and earned an Emmy Award in 2022 for his TV news work. Since 2019 he has made 50 short animated films (from stop‑motion and Adobe Character Animator to AI‑assisted works). He is currently Vice President of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan (FCCJ).
