We welcome filmmakers worldwide to submit their work for AI Film Festival Japan 2025. Please review the guidelines carefully:

    • Eligibility: Open to short (*Minimum: 90 seconds) and feature-length films (*Max length: 30 minutes) that incorporate AI in some form (*at least 60%) – whether generated by AI tools, about AI themes, or using AI in production. Films must be completed by the submission deadline and may be in any language (English subtitles required for non-English films).

    • Categories: Submissions will be considered for competition in categories:

        • AI Narrative

        • AI Documentary

        • AI Experimental Work

        • Student Filmmaker

        • AI + Beauty / Fashion

        • DEI Special Showcase

  • We especially encourage entries from emerging artists and underrepresented communities.

    • Timeline: The submission period opens on June 2025 and closes on September 2025. Final selections will be announced in early October 2025.

    • Rules: Films must be original work (no copyright infringements). Up to two people may be listed as key contacts. A brief synopsis and filmmaker biography are required. Subtitling or dubbing must be provided for non-English dialogue.
